Services
From idea to publication
Four services that work alone or together. Start with the free sample size tool, then add the services your study needs.
Our services
Open a service to see its workstreams and phases. Nora covers the planning half of a study. Data analysis and manuscript preparation are separate services.
Ask Nora your research assistant
Chat with Nora through four steps: idea discovery, a PICOT protocol with study design and sample size inputs, a literature review from live search or your own exported library, and a research proposal with aims, ethics checklist, budget and a consistency check. A problem found late is fixed in the step that owns it.
Data & Statistical Analysis
Upload a CSV or Excel file and the studio profiles every variable, harmonizes categories, flags implausible values and audits missing data. You get a cleaned file and an audit report with SHA-256 fingerprints, then descriptive, inferential, predictive, prescriptive and machine learning analyses. Members can export a Python script that repeats the work.
Manuscript Preparation
Turn your locked data findings into a manuscript for your target journal. The service covers author guideline alignment and outlining, STROBE or CONSORT checklist audits, and co-drafting of the methods and results. It continues through portal-ready submission packages, point-by-point reviewer responses, sensitivity reruns and a final check of the galley proofs.
1-on-1 Mentorship
Work one to one with a senior mentor on whatever your project needs: scoping an idea, reviewing your protocol, running or interpreting a data analysis, or answering reviewers. Sessions are live on video, with hands-on work on your own code and outputs. A final portfolio review leaves you able to run your next study on your own.
Data & Statistical Analysis
Data & Statistical Analysis
Runs in the Datathrob Analysis Studio. Your data stays in your browser. Guests work within the free limits, and members have no limits.
Workstream 2: Data Cleaning & Audit
1Intake & Profiling
- UploadLoad a CSV or Excel file, or paste your data. Excel files open with a sheet picker. The file is read in your browser and is not uploaded anywhere.
- ProfilingThe studio profiles every variable for type, missing data, and ranges.
- Quality scorecardA data quality scorecard rates completeness, uniqueness, and the other checks, before and after cleaning.
2Categorical Harmonization
- Spelling variantsThe studio finds spelling, case, and spacing variants of the same category and proposes one standard value.
- Your approvalNothing changes until you approve each step, and the original file is never altered.
3Plausibility Limits & Missing Values
- Plausibility flagsDraft clinical limits flag values that are not possible or not likely. The limits are pending clinical review.
- Missing value auditThe default leaves missing values as they are and reports them for every variable.
- Optional imputationMedian or mode imputation is available for chosen variables, with an imputed flag column that keeps the change visible.
4Cleaned Data & Audit Report
- Cleaned fileDownload the cleaned data as CSV.
- FingerprintsThe report records SHA-256 fingerprints of the original and the cleaned file.
- Activity logEvery action is logged.
- Audit reportExport the full report as Word, PDF, or Markdown. Every analysis result you run is added to it.
Workstream 3: Statistical Analysis
1Descriptive Analysis
- Summary of every variableSize, missing data, centre and spread for numbers, and counts for categories.
- Table 1Baseline characteristics by group, with a mean-based or rank-based test for each number and a chi-square or Fisher test for each category.
2Inferential Analysis
- Two groupsWelch t-test or Mann-Whitney U, chosen from the data.
- Three or more groupsANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis.
- Two categoriesChi-square, with Fisher exact for 2 by 2 tables.
- Two numbersPearson or Spearman correlation.
- Paired measurementsPaired t-test or Wilcoxon signed-rank test.
- Survival over timeKaplan-Meier curves with a log-rank comparison between groups.
3Predictive Analysis
- Linear regressionPredict a measurement from other variables.
- Logistic regressionPredict a yes or no outcome, with odds ratios and a cross-validated ROC curve and AUC.
- Cox regressionModel time to an event with hazard ratios.
4Prescriptive Analysis
- Number needed to treatTurn a treatment effect into a number clinicians can use.
- Decision curve analysisCompare the net benefit of a model with treating everyone or no one.
- Cost-effectivenessCalculate the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) for two options.
5Advanced & Machine Learning Analysis
- Penalized regressionRidge, LASSO, and elastic net for many or overlapping predictors.
- Dimension reduction and clusteringPrincipal component analysis and k-means clustering.
- Tree ensemblesRandom forest and gradient boosting, with cross-validated performance and variable importance.
- Reproducible codeMembers can export a Python script that repeats the analysis on the cleaned data.
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscript Preparation
Translates locked data findings into peer-reviewed publications and manages the entire journal lifecycle.
1Manuscript Preparations
- Guidelines Alignment & OutliningIdentify target peer-reviewed journals and cross-reference their exact author guidelines to build a structural outline.
- Reporting Framework VerificationSelect and run audits against appropriate reporting framework checklists such as STROBE or CONSORT.
- Methods & Results Co-DraftingCo-draft the scientific methods narrative and results transparently, maintaining anti-ghostwriting boundaries so the investigator completely owns all interpretation.
- High-Res Figure GenerationConvert raw analytical plots into high-resolution, publication-ready vector graphics (TIFF/EPS) and format standalone data tables.
2Publication Submission & Editorial Follow-ups
- Journal Portal SubmissionFormat complete manuscript packages including title pages, disclosures, and reference formatting for direct portal upload.
- Peer-Review Rebuttal ArchitectureConstruct structured, professional point-by-point response templates to manage reviewer critiques and queries.
- Sensitivity RerunsExecute secondary statistical sensitivity analyses to address direct methodology queries raised during the editorial review phase.
- Proof Review & FinalizationAudit publisher galley proofs for structural accuracy prior to the official online-ahead-of-print publication release.
Independent Service
1-on-1 Mentorship
An isolated, dedicated educational track focusing on direct clinician guidance, trainee portfolio monitoring, and reviewer response training.
Workstream 4: Mentorship & Faculty/Trainee Guidance
1Mentorship Mapping & Initial Idea Scoping
- PairingPair the resident, fellow, or faculty investigator with a dedicated senior mentor.
